The Controversial Link between CSR and Financial Performance: The Mediating Role of Green Innovation

The contentious relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and financial performance (CFP) has been extensively yet inconclusively debated in the sustainability literature. We further investigate link CSR CFP by examining mediating role of green innovation (GIP). perform pooled ordinary least squares (OLS) analysis on a panel data UK firms from 2006 to 2017 provided ASSET4 database. find that is positively significantly associated with GIP plays significant positive this relationship. Our findings contribute extant literature using comprehensive measure addressing effects CFP. results provide policy, practice, research implications as investors demand more robust information, regulators establish environmental climate change rules, companies focus efficiency effectiveness their practices performance.
